KFI is a small, non-traditional organization partnering with people and their families to plan, create, provide, and sustain customized home supports, community connections, and employment opportunities that help people with disabilities enjoy typical, socially valued lifestyles.
Qualified Dedicated Staff
With over 50 years of experience, KFI seeks out, hires, and trains exceptional staff who share our values around people living rich and meaningful lives in their communities. Staff are certified in general and specific areas of expertise, plus they are trained and mentored to be experts in individual people’s supports.
Valued Roles
KFI enhances people’s reputations by helping them to be useful and contributing citizens. Focusing not on care-giving as our human service role, but on assisting people to obtain and maintain adult roles that are valued by our society, including employee, head of household, friend, member, volunteer, neighbor, business owner, traveler, taxpayer, voter, etc.
Supports
At Home
KFI provides flexible supports to individuals to meet their unique needs while living in their own homes and apartments. Depending upon the need, people may be supported from one hour per week to 24 hours per day. KFI does not own or hold the lease where anyone lives.

KFI provides people with broad opportunities explore their community; to use its resources; and to develop friendships and relationships, and valued roles. KFI’s customized supports allow people to structure their day in ways that are meaningful to them.
More About Community SupportEmployment Services
KFI helps people with a wide range of disabilities to discover what kind of job they would like and then helps to make that happen. Services may include career planning and discovery, job development, short-term job coaching or long-term work supports, and consultation with employers.
